1991 Champion NFL Team Issued Game Jersey Buffalo Bills Scott Norwood Sz. 44
This authentic Champion jersey features 1988 pro Bowl kicker Scott Norwood of the Buffalo Bills. Scott is best remembered for his imfamous "Wide Right" missed kick to close out Super Bowl XXV in Jaunary 1991. Scott's final season came the next season, helping the Bills earn a 2nd Super Bowl appearance by kicking the game-winning field goal in the AFC Championship Game against the Denver Broncos, leading the Bills to a 10-7 victory.
This jersey is an authentic team-issued item, matching the tagging & materials worn on the field by the Bills that season. 1991 was the first season the NFL added their shield logo to the collars of every team's jerseys. However, "new uniform policies" were not enforced nearly as strictly back then as they are today & as a result, Scott wore his older late 80's Champion jersey instead, leaving this jersey unworn. The numbers, sleeve stripes, and nameplate each feature the same matching heavyweight screenprinting used by the Bills during this era. Despite the mesh plate, everything appears to be team-direct & original - most notably, the identical print wuality from the nameplate letters vs. the rest of the jersey.
I have been buying & selling jerseys for about a decade & this is the very first Scott Norwood jersey I have ever seen aside from his own Super Bowl XXV game-used jersey, which Scott himself auctioned off a few years ago.
