This authentic Puma jersey was worn by New Orleans Saints wide receiver Robert Wilson. Following a standout career at Florida A&M University, Wilson enjoyed a five-season NFL career as a member of the Seattle Seahawks and New Orleans Saints. Both of Robert's sons play college football - Robert Jr. with Grambling State and later with Georgia. Robert Sr. tragically passed away in 2020 at the age of 46 following complications from a stroke.
Wilson wore this jersey on Saturday, August 12th, 2000 in an NFL preseason game against the Indianapolis Colts. This game was uniquely played at Ross-Ade Stadium, home of the Purdue Boilermakers. This jersey exhibits great evidence of use, including pilling & wear throughout, with a blue paint transfer across the back shoulder & nameplate.
Robert only wore the number 16 through the 2000 preseason. After making the final roster for the 2000 season, he changed his number to 80.
